CSI is called to investigate a banquet celebrating the sale of a university-developed medical technology to a defense contractor, after a number of guests suddenly grow ill, with three people dying. Initial investigations reveal no airborne or food based poisons, and soon the FBI steps in, shutting out our team. CSI is called to Dario, a high-end casino's flagship steakhouse to investigate the murder of their celebrity chef, Dario. He was found in the freezer of his own restaurant, hung on a meat hook with a butcher knife through his ribs. Strangely, there is a message written on the freezer door: "I'm so sorry. A frozen body is both a blessing and a curse: it takes days to thaw out enough to work with, but it makes fingerprints easy to extract. The CSIs report to an arson investigation and are treated to a chilling realization: the two victims were tied down and left to be burned alive. Chris and Max check the security cameras, hoping to get a look at the unhinged killer, only to be greeted by a surprising sight: a big, shaggy creature stumbling out the front door. From photos in the booth, we see Shelby and Clarence as a happy couple, but as the pictures progress, we see Clarence's murder; unfortunately, no murderer. Upon examining the body, we learn that our killer left behind the username ChrisSolves on our victim's forehead in invisible ink. Shockingly, we learn the username belongs to our own Chris Park. We discover Chris is an aspiring e-celeb with a popular TikTok account that gives a behind-the-scenes look into the life of a CSI agent. When a young, non-verbal boy is found hiding in a stranger's garage, the CSI team searches for his missing mother. Also, Max receives a strange letter with symbols in silver ink that Folsom and Allie recognize from prior crime scenes. Catherine's day off with her granddaughter gets interrupted when a woman wakes up from a four-year coma and remembers details from the night her sister died. The CSI team investigates the death of an archaeologist found near the breakthrough discovery of an ancient civilization. Also, Max locates another cryptic note written in familiar silver ink after a mentally distressed woman kills her attacker. The CSIs investigate the mysterious death of a competitive eating contestant, and Chavez partners with Allie to prove where the mysterious silver ink notes have been coming from. A silver ink note threatening Maxine Roby's life is found at the crime lab, sending the entire CSI team to crack who is behind the notes and how they connect to other murder cases.
